Year 9 Madrid Trip Posted: 29/05/23

On Saturday, our day was full of excursions

During half term, 40 Year 9 students went on Wren Academy Enfield’s first ever international trip.

We set off from the Academy at 5.30am and were in the Royal Palace of Madrid at 5.30pm.  Students enjoyed visiting the stately rooms and had plenty of photo opportunities in the palace grounds.

On Saturday, our day was full of excursions, with a guided tour of Las Ventas Bull Ring followed by lunch and a tour of Real Madrid’s stadium, the Santiago Bernabeu.  On our penultimate day, we visited the Retiro Park and got the chance to walk amongst peacocks and then explored the city centre and its shops.  In the evening, we watched a live flamenco show and tried some traditional Spanish food, followed by some churros, with chocolate of course!

Our students thoroughly enjoyed the experience of learning about Spanish culture first-hand and made some life-long memories with their peers.
