Sixth Form Commitment

A consistently high quality of A Level teaching

Wren Academy teachers are subject specialists.  We will ensure that all of our A Level teachers are fully up to date with the examination requirements of their subject.  Our curriculum will ensure we can meet the learning preferences and university aspirations of students.

Helping you to achieve all you are capable of

At Wren Academy all students are supported in being the best they can be, both in and out of the classroom.  Our A Level students will make excellent progress, achieving grades higher than those expected of them when they began their courses.

Service and Leadership Programme

Wren's leadership development programme for Sixth Form students will help prepare them for their future career and also provide them with vital skills to help manage their lives.

A pre-university atmosphere

We recognise the importance of using the two years of Sixth Form to help prepare our students for university and their careers beyond.  To this end, privileges and responsibilities will be balanced so that all students become able to study independently and be more confident in their social skills.

A school Sixth Form

Our Sixth Form will give students plenty of opportunities to demonstrate their independence, however we recognise that young people between the ages of 16 and 18 still need support too.  Our Sixth Form team will make sure that students take on more responsibility for their own learning gradually as they are ready to do so.  Students will never be cast adrift or left to study without structure.

A broad cultural Enrichment Programme

All students will be encouraged to take part in our Enrichment Programme which will include guest speakers, visits to concerts, galleries, museums and sports.  As well as having an interesting and enjoyable time, enrichment helps to make students a stronger all round candidate for leading universities.  All students will also be supported in reading widely around their chosen A Level subjects.

The best guidance for university applications

Across the Wren Academies Trust, our record in achieving Russell Group university places for our students is exceptional.  Wren Academy Enfield staff will help students through the UCAS process.  The general support on offer will be supplemented by specialist guidance for those applying to study Law or Medicine and for students applying to Oxbridge.

Life beyond Wren

We will organise visits to high profile work places and the Enrichment Programme will include a range of inspiring professional speakers representing professions like Banking, Economics and Journalism.

A dynamic community

The Wren Sixth Form will be a diverse community of young people with a wide range of backgrounds and experiences.  A mix of students who studied at Wren in Year 11 and those joining us from other schools at the start of Year 12, will help to ensure that our Sixth Formers meet new people and create new friendships.
