Provider Access Policy Statement (PALs)
This statement outlines our arrangements for allowing training and education providers access to students to share information about their courses and apprenticeships, in line with Section 42B of the Education Act 1997.
All students in Years 7–13 are entitled to:
- Learn about technical qualifications and apprenticeship opportunities.
- Hear from a range of local providers through events, assemblies, and workshops.
- Understand how to apply for academic and technical courses.
Provider Encounters
In line with the updated Provider Access Legislation (PAL), we ensure at least six encounters for students:
- Two in Years 8–9
- Two in Years 10–11
- Two in Years 12–13
Encounters will take place during school hours and may include assemblies, presentations, and taster sessions. Providers will have time to:
- Present their courses and apprenticeships
- Explain potential career routes
- Offer insights into training or study with them
- Answer student questions
We also proactively invite approved providers to take part in school events such as Careers Focus Days, Parent Evenings and Career Talks.
