Year 9 into Year 10 Triple Science

GCSE Science Triple (AQA)

This course aims to:

This course aims to further develop understanding of scientific explanations, how science works and aspects of Biology, Chemistry and Physics relevant to careers in Science. The course provides a distinctive and relevant experience for learners who wish to progress to further study in any of the three separate subjects.

Why study GCSE Triple Science?

Studying GCSE Triple Science gives students access to new concepts within the three disciplines.  The course will enable you to critically think about Science by unpicking how the world around you works, while considering how advances in Science have resulted in phenomenal innovations. Furthermore, Triple Science provides a multitude of benefits, such as a smoother transition to A-level Science, invaluable knowledge and more opportunities to develop specific transferrable skills.

What kind of student is suitable for this course?

Students who possess a genuine interest in developing their scientific knowledge. It represents a more demanding academic route and as such is suitable for higher attaining students (typically working at a Grade 5 by Easter in Year 9). Students taking this route will need to recognise that the learning will be at a fast pace and will require continuous enthusiasm and determination.

What career options are opened by this course?

Further study in Science opens a wide range of career options. There are many careers which directly use the scientific knowledge and understanding that this course will develop.
