Enrichment - Young Entrepreneurs Posted: 29/03/24

Our young entrepreneurs have been exposed to a wide range of real-life issues and business opportunities.

During the Spring Term, the Young Entrepreneurs’ club has seen a new wave of fresh innovative minds tackle real-world business problems.  From designing our own tech gadget that solves extreme weather issues to working in groups to pitch unique restaurant ideas, our young entrepreneurs have been exposed to a wide range of real-life issues and business opportunities.  They have been introduced to key concepts of business management, such as product ideation, financial management, creativity and problem- solving, and continue to challenge themselves to take a new approach and outlook on things.  A recent example saw a group of students pitch a unique business idea for a hamster café / hotel that will not only provide safe sanctuary for your furry friend, but an afternoon of entertainment and relaxation.

Students are given a few weeks to tackle a specific problem whilst learning the ropes of teamwork and public speaking.  Their projects culminate in a final simulated sales pitch where they present their product prototype to a panel of ‘investors’ (their peers and teachers) in a Dragons Den style showdown.  Moving forwards, students will have the opportunity to celebrate their peers’ achievements by investing in their brands using the ‘money’ that they have earned throughout the term.  This ‘simulated money’ is a new system that is being trialled, where students accumulate ‘income’ through their attendance and various contributions to the club.  This system will offer a valuable opportunity to develop students’ financial literacy by teaching them the key skills involved in investing, budgeting and money management, all of which are key to being a successful entrepreneur.

It has been extremely refreshing so far to witness the remarkable innovation of our students at Wren Enfield and you can see below some feedback from our student about this Enrichment.
