Runners set off in waves over the course of the morning.

The morning of Saturday 22 April saw the sun come out and 66 Wren Enfield students and their family and friends head into Central London to join in with the TCS Mini Marathon.  The runners congregated at Horse Guards Parade along with a sea of other excited participants for the start of the run.  The buzz of excitement was palpable!

Runners set off in waves over the course of the morning.  First up were the Year 8s and 9s who ran a 2.6km route followed a little later by the Year 7s who ran 1 mile.  All the Wren Enfield runners stood out wonderfully in their vibrant turquoise T-shirts as they ran along the iconic route; running around St James Park, past Buckingham Palace and up the Mall where they crossed the London Marathon finish line and each collected a medal.  Congratulations to all the runners, who were brilliant and thanks to all their friends and families for coming out in force to support our Wren team!

Not only was it a fabulous event but we also raised loads of money for the school.  TCS will be donating £660 to the school for the runners who crossed the finish line to go towards sports equipment and, thanks to all of our generous supporters, we have raised a further £2,100 through our JustGiving sponsorship page which will go towards much needed school equipment.  There is still a chance to support the cause if you would like to as the page will remain open until the end of May.
